What is underfloor heating?
It's electric heating cable laid into your floor — under tile, timber or stone — and set into a levelling screed. It turns a cold floor into a gently warm one, with no radiators, no vents and nothing to hear. Most people put it where a cold floor is felt most: bathrooms, kitchens and living areas.
The people behind it
Heat NZ is run by a registered electrician who's been installing heating since he was sixteen, learning the trade from his father. More than twenty years on, he works alongside an installer with thirty-five years of tiling and heating behind him. Between them, there's not much they haven't heated.

How much does underfloor heating cost?
It depends on the heated floor area, but every estimate here is all-in — heating element, levelling screed, thermostat, installation and the electrical Code of Compliance certificate. Use the estimator for a firm 'from' price.
How disruptive is the install?
It goes in during a renovation or a new floor, before the tile or timber. We lay the cable and screed in one visit, then return to fit off and commission once the floor is down.
What floors can it go under?
Tile and stone are ideal. It can also suit timber and some other floors — we'll confirm what works for yours at quote stage.
How long does it take to warm up?
Our higher-output cable warms the floor faster than a standard one, and a thermostat with a timer means it is warm exactly when you want it.
Can I just buy a kit and do it myself?
We're an installation business, not a DIY supplier. Your price includes a registered electrician and a Code of Compliance certificate — peace of mind a DIY kit can't give you.
